American Dollars are broadly accepted in stores, but when payingwith dollars, stores usually exchange themoney to Soles for a lower rate. (Sometimes rates are abusive.)
The best place to exchange money in Lima is at a recognized Money Exchange business or a bank. (It is not recommended to exchange money on the street.) Banks pay less than a money exchange store.
